Field Service Engineer/Technician - FSE (4 positions)... [2023]

Duration – Full Time

Location – Chandler, Arizona 

Location – Hillsboro, Oregon

Hours - Full-Time
Pay Grade – Open level I, II, and level III for Technicians and Engineers

Position Description:

Provide onsite support for installation and modification of state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing/processing equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform tool modifications and or installations either solely or as part of a larger team.

Modification scope varies from basic changes to very complex mods requiring significant changes to tool hardware and software. The skill and experience of each individual will determine what level of difficulty is assigned (to them). New employees will initially be assigned simpler mods until such time they prove ready for more advanced tasks. Safety is paramount and must be the #1 priority. Job quality and adherence to schedule are vital.

Strict adherence to documented procedures is mandatory. More advanced candidates should be able to troubleshoot and resolve unanticipated problems and take countermeasures in an expedient manner. Proper judgment regarding when to escalate issues within DNSE and to the customer is a “must”. Experienced technicians are expected to provide OJT for newer employees or technicians assigned to mod they do not have previous experience with.

Work schedule flexibility is required as customer schedule requirements may include weekend or night shift support.

Anticipated Tasks (examples):

Install / Mod FSE 1:

  • Safety Buddy/attendant
  • PTP and Lockout / Tag-out implementation
  • Wire/harness routing and connection
  • Tube/piping routing and terminating (flare / threaded fittings)
  • Etc

Install / Mod FSE 2:

  • All items associated with Install / Mod FSE 1
  • Basic DNS system operation including manual operation of flow systems
  • Verification of system status to begin maintenance
  • Chemical loop component replacement (i.e. valves, filters, pumps, etc)
  • Leak / operational checks of chemical / DIW flow systems
  • etc

Install / Mod FSE 3:

  • All items associated with Install / Mod FSE 1 & 2
  • Maintenance/modification of wafer handling components
  • etc

Desired Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have previous experience maintaining, installing, and or modifying wet processing equipment in a fab environment. Their ability to apply their knowledge and accelerate their learning curve on DNS toolsets will be monitored. Top candidates will progress quickly and be assigned to more complex mods in a shorter time.

Entry-level candidates must demonstrate full knowledge of all safety protocols before working on wet cleaning tools in a fab environment.

Candidates should have experience using basic tools (e.g.; micrometers, calipers, multi-meters, current clamp, etc.) and the ability to read schematics/plumbing diagrams. They must be able to follow detailed oral and written procedures. Excellent communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and customer service skills are necessary. Candidates must be proficient with MS Office programs.

All candidates must be able to pass customer background checks, medical tests, and certification/training for respirator use. Candidates must be able to lift 35 pounds and climb steep stairs.

Job Locations:

Must live near Hillsboro, Oregon or Chandler, Arizona (or be willing to relocate at own expense)

Work inside the Intel Fabs and Facilities Areas.

Paid company travel will be required as needed.

Educational / Work Requirements:

Previous Experience: Field Service Engineer / Technician / Facilities Maint. / Pipe Fitter

Minimum education: Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent military technical training.

3+ years of wafer fab experience (preferably maintaining wet processing equipment) is very desirable.

Regardless of degree status, all technical experience will be evaluated to potentially fit for OJT learning.
